Cinsault

The variety has been produced in South Africa since the 1850s and formed the backbone of the red wine segment until the 1960s because of its ability to produce high yields. Initially, it was used to produce bulk wines, but later also some of South Africa’s top blends and today we see a resurgence as this varietal is making a new name for itself, especially in cult circles.
